Fixed-rate parking charge (FPS)
The regulations, which came into force on 1 January 2018, introduce a fixed-rate parking charge defined by law as the sum due for the maximum authorised parking time. In Sélestat, the amount of the FPS is €35.
If no payment is made, the amount of the FPS due is €35. If payment is not made immediately, and under certain conditions, the amount of the €35 FPS is reduced by the amount of the parking charge already paid.
Offenders may be fined several FPSs on the same day in the event of prolonged unpaid parking.
You can view or pay your FPS online via the municipal police portal.
Administrative appeal
If you disagree with a Forfait Post Stationnement payment, you must submit a compulsory prior administrative appeal (RAPO) to the City of Sélestat. This must be done within one month of notification of the payment notice, and prior to any proceedings before the Commission Nationale du Contentieux du Stationnement Payant. The RAPO must be sent by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.
The City has one month in which to determine whether the RAPO is well-founded, based on criteria of form and substance.
You can also lodge an appeal online, via the municipal police portal.
